The Co-op Community Trust appointed Charein Coenraad and welcomes her to The Co-op family. This position was created to strengthen our impacts in social development. The Co-op Community Trust invests in our communities through socio-economic development, health promotion, education and training and taking care of the elderly.
Charein Coenraad is a trained social worker and currently the administrator and public relations officer of the The CO Op Community trust. She has over 8 years’ experience in working with children, families and communities as an agent of support and guidance. Charein is the wife of Luciano Coenraad and mother to beautiful Lu’Cah Coenraad.
"When I look back on my 8 years as a social worker, I stand in awe to see the difference that I have made in the lives of people. My days were filled with a lot of difficult challenges, regardless of what occurred during the day, I couldn’t help but sense as though I made a small but significant difference in someone 's life. I left everyday anticipating the opportunity to come back the following day. I am grateful that I formed part in the process of change and that I was given the opportunity to support people through it."
"My training and background include a degree in Social Work, training in parenting skills and drug and alcohol abuse, working with diverse communities with different social ills and working with persons with disabilities.
My passion is to work with communities. To not only see people coping with difficulties, but also to see people thrive and become what they ought to be. I believe I was given the gift to care for others and believing that everyone has the power to change and contribute something to their society."
"I am excited for my new venture at the Co Op Community Trust and believe that through this new venture people will be given the guidance they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling, happy lives.
Coretta Scotte King once said “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members”...What a joy and privilege to be part of this in peoples’ lives through working at the Co Op!!"
